Winter is almost over and we can’t wait for Spring! Here are a few things to keep you entertained in March:
Edinburgh Fashion Week (5th March – 13th March)
Edinburgh’s residents are well-known for their quirky dress sense and original style so it’s no surprise the city decided to launch its own fashion week last year. This year, for the second time running, the Fashion Week with showcase some of Edinburgh’s well-known high street brands alongside independent boutiques and hotly anticipated collections from the students of Edinburgh College of Art.
Edinburgh International Science Festival (26th March – 10th April)
One of Europe’s largest science festivals, the Edinburgh International Science Festival offers a great programme of educational workshops, discussions, performances and exhibitions alongside evening events for adults with a scientific twist.
Italian Film Festival (4th – 7th March)
For the 23rd year running, the Italian Film Festival in Scotland will take place in various venues across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness. Showcasing new Italian films alongside old classics, it’s the perfect chance to see something different to the usual Hollywood blockbusters. In Edinburgh you can a great selection of il cinema italiano at the Filmhouse.
Old Town Street Food Festival (27th March)
Some of Edinburgh’s best street food vendors will gather at the Three Sisters for the first Old Town Street Food Festival of the year. Enjoy a variety of street food from around the world whilst enjoying music from over 20 live acts and multiple DJs.
The Pitt Market (26th March)
Since it’s first event in December last year, the Pitt Market, based in Pitt Street has been a roaring success and this month’s event should be no exception. Street food vendors from across Scotland will join local brewers, distillers and other businesses for another great day of entertainment, live music and “fire pitts” (whatever they are!)
Wee Dub Festival
The Wee Dub Festival is returning to Edinburgh’s Old Town this month for the sixth time. It’s a celebration of dub, reggae and soundsystem culture with a full programme of soundsystem and club sessions, live gigs, workshops and more.
